Microneedle with Radiofrequency

Share:

Microneedling with radiofrequency is a minimally-invasive, advanced microneedling treatment designed to achieve youthful, radiant, and beautiful skin. It combines two technologies:

  1. Microneedling:
    • This involves using tiny needles to create controlled injuries in the skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing process, which leads to increased production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that give skin its firmness and elasticity.
  2. Radiofrequency (RF) energy:
    • This type of energy heats the deeper layers of the skin, which also helps to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Our Microneedling device is the world’s first and only FDA-cleared dual-wave RF microneedling device, meaning it has two different modes of operation:

  1. Ultra-short pulsed wave (PW) mode:
    • This mode is designed to target and treat abnormal blood vessels and tissue, such as those that cause rosacea and melasma.
  2. Continuous wave (CW) mode:
    • This mode is designed to provide deeper heating and tissue remodeling for overall skin tightening and rejuvenation.

How does it improve melasma

Unlike traditional treatments, it targets multiple aspects of melasma:

  1. Selective Radiofrequency (RF) Energy:
    • Ultra-short pulsed wave (PW) mode: Delivers precise bursts of RF energy to selectively heat and damage abnormal blood vessels contributing to melasma’s vascular component. This reduces inflammation and prevents further melanin production.
    • Continuous wave (CW) mode: Provides deeper heating to stimulate collagen and elastin production, promoting skin tightening and improving the basement membrane function. This strengthens the skin’s foundation, hindering melanin migration and preventing future melasma development.
  2. Microneedles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the natural healing process. This:
    • Increases collagen and elastin production, further firming and tightening the skin.
    • Enhances the penetration of topical medications and skincare products.
    • May stimulate melanocyte turnover, promoting the removal of excess melanin.

How does it improve Acne and Acne Scars

It can help improve acne and acne scars through its skin rejuvenation and remodelling effects. Here’s how it can address both acne and acne scars:

  1. Reduction of Active Acne:
    • It utilizes fractional radiofrequency (RF) and micro-needle RF technologies to deliver controlled thermal energy into the skin.
    • The thermal energy targets sebaceous glands, which are responsible for producing excess oil (sebum) that can clog pores and contribute to acne formation.
    • By heating and modifying the function of these glands, it can reduce oil production and decrease the occurrence of acne breakouts.
  2. Improvement of Acne Scars:
    • It promotes collagen production and skin remodeling, which can help improve the appearance of acne scars.
    • Fractional RF technology stimulates the production of new collagen fibers in the deeper layers of the skin, filling in depressed acne scars and improving skin texture.
    • Micro-needle RF creates micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response and promoting the formation of new, healthy tissue.
    • Over time, the combination of collagen remodeling and skin regeneration can lead to a smoother skin surface and a reduction in the visibility of acne scars.
  3. Enhanced Delivery of Topical Treatments:
    • Micro-needle RF creates microchannels in the skin, which can enhance the penetration of topical acne treatments.
    • Doctor may combine Micro-needle RF with topical medications such as retinoids or acne-fighting serums to further target active acne and promote skin healing.
  4. Reduction of Inflammation:
    • the anti-inflammatory effects may help reduce the redness and swelling associated with active acne lesions.
    • By calming inflammation and promoting skin healing, it can contribute to the overall improvement of acne-prone skin.

How does Micro-needle RF improve Rosacea

It may help improve rosacea through its skin rejuvenation and anti-inflammatory effects.

  1. Anti-Inflammatory Effects:
    • Rosacea is characterized by inflammation of the skin, leading to symptoms such as redness, flushing, and visible blood vessels. Fractional radiofrequency (RF) technology has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce redness and inflammation associated with rosacea.
  2. Improvement in Skin Texture:
    • Micro-needle RF stimulates collagen production and skin remodeling, which can help improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin affected by rosacea. By promoting collagen synthesis, It may help strengthen the skin’s barrier function and reduce sensitivity.
  3. Reduction of Visible Blood Vessels:
    • In some cases of rosacea, visible blood vessels may appear on the skin’s surface. While Micro-needle RF is not specifically targeted at addressing blood vessels, its skin rejuvenation effects may lead to a reduction in the appearance of telangiectasia over time.
  4. Enhanced Skin Barrier Function:
    • Micro-needle RF promotes skin healing and regeneration, which can help strengthen the skin’s barrier function. A compromised skin barrier is often associated with rosacea and can exacerbate symptoms such as sensitivity and redness. By improving the skin barrier, it may help reduce these symptoms.
  5. Reduction of Flare-Ups:
    • While Micro-needle RF may not directly prevent rosacea flare-ups, its anti-inflammatory effects and improvement in skin barrier function may contribute to a reduction in the frequency and severity of flare-ups over time.

Micro-needle RF is a relatively new treatment, but it has shown promising results in clinical studies. It is generally considered to be safe and effective for most people..If you are considering this treatment, it is important to consult with a doctor to discuss your individual needs and goals.
